Virtual Airlines welcomes you to the world of virtual aviation. Along with
the regional airlines – Horizon, Pen Air and Era Aviation, pilots will be
able to experience the routes and aircraft of their favorite airlines.
We
are a group of dedicated hobbyists using computer flight simulation programs
such as Microsoft Flight Simulator FS2004, FSX ®, and brought together with same desire to re create the
operations of the real world airlines.
Many can copy us, none can be us.
New pilots joining,
start their career at the Central Training Facility, the core function within
our VA. The CTF is staffed by dedicated training personnel, most of whom have hub management experience and we consider it to be the finest on the net to-day. Here you will
practice basic and advanced instrument flying on single and twin engined
aircraft and learn about route and fuel planning, departure and arrival
procedures, precision & non-precision approaches, safe and economic air transport
operations and much more. After graduation you will certainly be able to
operate in a virtual air traffic environment such as VATSIM without fear of
embarrassment. The course is
designed by an experienced ex- British Airways Flight Training Manager and
caters for both USA and European procedures. This is no easy route
to Virtual Commercial Aviation and there are plenty of VAs that allow their
pilots just to bore holes in the sky with no regard to planning, fuel economy
and the host of skills that go to make up a transport pilot, but if you want
to be part of a professional organisation then we have a lot to offer.
At
all times, pilots will be in contact with real people who are here to help
you and look after your every need. Alaska Virtual Airlines will never be a
robotic site, you the pilot will always come first.
After
10 flight hours at the C.T.F, you will start your Alaska Virtual Airlines career at
one of the four Alaska Virtual Airlines operational hubs, Anchorage, Seattle, Los
Angeles and Portland. Here you will begin to fly the routes and aircraft
imitating the operations of Alaska and Horizon Airlines. At
the Operational hubs, pilots are allocated routes and aircraft to fly by the
Hub Manager. After pilots fly the assigned routes, they send in the flight reports
back to the Hub Manager who will keep a Hub roster record of the pilots’
hours and send out further assignments. Not
only will pilots be in close personal contact with the Hub Managers, but
pilots will also be able to keep in contact with every pilot and staff member
of all NWVA et al
Airlines with the use of
the dedicated nwva.org e-mail system and forums..
